    We are currently looking for a Mechanical Estimator with previous commercial experience to join our team!

    What you'll be doing

    • Review potential projects and identify best course of action to estimate
    • Estimate commercial HVAC projects and change orders
    • Estimate accurately each project in sufficient time to permit analysis, checking of calculations, and corrections as necessary
    • Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
    • Analyze bid documents (drawings, specifications, etc.) and existing site conditions to properly outline scope of work, including all general conditions and requirements
    • Identify all applicable HVAC related national, state, and local code requirements
    • Design HVAC and Controls systems that may be needed in order to prepare estimate
    • Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials
    • Work with material suppliers on pricing, performance, reliability, and availability of HVAC equipment
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local suppliers, vendors, and sub-contractors to obtain accurate and competitive pricing on material, crane/lift equipment, sheet metal, controls, etc.
    • Obtain and review sub-contractor proposals and ensure compliance with bid documents
    • Coordinate and oversee all pre-construction requirements of project with Project Manager and Operations to ensure efficiency and profitability
    • Provide weekly report on all projects estimated and awarded
    • Other duties as assigned

    What we're looking for

    • Associate’s degree or an equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
    • 7+ years of commercial HVAC estimating experience
    • Proficient in estimating techniques and cost control, plus the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems
    • Strong ability to negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and sub-contractors on obtaining best pricing and timely delivery
    • Knowledge of Accubid, LiveCount, or other estimating software
    • Mechanical license is a plus
    • Project management/coordination experience
    • Ability to prioritize tasks according to deadlines and urgency, and completing them in a timely and professional manner
    • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a professional, courteous, and knowledgeable manner
    • Ability to multitask using several screens/browsers while talking on the phone and navigating through systems
    • Ability to create, edit and analyze Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, PDF files, and Power Point presentations
    • Must be proficient in the use of Excel
